Paratha | Luchi | Bangladeshi Food

I am a Bangladeshi. So, I like Bangladeshi foods such as rice, fish , dal , vegetables, Fruits like mangoes , jack-fruits , bananas ,pineapples, black-berries etc. And foods made from these fruits are favourite to me. I eat various types of foods.
Among all Bangladeshi dishes I like the “Parathas”. It’s a well-known dish in Bangladesh.One can find it almost in every market of our country especially in the morning and afternoon. Many familes make it as their breakfast. A paratha is a flatbread that originated in the north of the Indian Subcontinent.
In Bangladesh there are many kinds of Parathas here. Such as, Aloo Paratha, Dal paratha, Luchi paratha, Gajar paratha etc. These paratha’s are of two kinds: - Plain parathas and stuffed parathas. Parathas can be eaten as a breakfast dish or as a tea-time (tiffin) snack. The flour used is finely ground whole meal (Atta) and the dough is shallow fried.
We love frying these in butter or ghee, but if you are health-conscious, replace that with a light oil (canola, sunflower, groundnut, rice-barn, etc), as I do. If you have never made parathas, but you are good at rolling out fondants, cookie dough or pizza dough, then be confident, you can easily make these. Many Indian mothers love to pack their kids’ lunchboxes with aloo parathas because these are soft and being rich in carbohydrates, these make a good lunchbox option for active kids.
A luchi is deep-fried flat bread made of wheat flour. A typical luchi will measure 4-5 inches in diameter. They are usually served with curries or gravies. It is also flat bread that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It is made with wheat flour, pan fried in ghee or cooking oil, and sometimes stuffed with vegetables, such as boiled potatoes or cauliflower and paneer (that’s my favorite!). A paratha, especially a stuffed one can be simply with a blob of butter spread on top but it is best served with pickles, or thick spicy curries of meat and vegetable. Some people prefer to roll up the paratha into a tube and have it with tea, often dipping the paratha into the tea.
I really enjoy eating Bangladeshi foods. I eat them to my heart's content. No other foods, other than these can satisfy me. The paratha is an important part of a traditional South Asian breakfast. Some people may even bake it in the oven for health reasons. Usually the paratha is eaten with dollops of white butter on top of it.
